PAINTING MOON OVER PEONY

Been painting forever & I still don't know where & when inspiration is going to show up. The idea for this new design came about from a FB post from a serious poetry addict. The image of Peony under the moonlight just kind of stayed with me for weeks. If I wasn't looking for something else, I would never come acress this painting I did 20 years ago. Well, I've never seen the moon over my Peony, but I think I got the mood.

6 AM, bright beautiful moon & the first day of spring…not a bad way to start the weekend

I took liberty with the colors, but at 6 AM, the moon was going down the western horizon.

This sketch came about as I pass by the bright full moon over Putnam Lake Reservoir on North St. With so many lakes & watertrails, this could be anywhere in Connecticut...I was trying to capture a spirit of place.
