Illustrating Children's Book

Came upon a drawing by Ingres at the  Metropolitan Museum recently. Every book project I did always started with an artist.                   

For Little Women, Ingres's meticulous precision with just a pencil was a major influence.

ILLUMINATED ALPHABETS

learning my ABC

Following in the tradition of medieval illuminated text initials, the letters of the alphabet became a favorite subject of graphic design from the 15 century on. I started doodling after I came back from a recent show at the  Print & Drawing Gallery at the Metropolitan Museum.
