MONET'S WATERLILIES

Even with all the traffic in the gallery, sitting in the middle of Monet's waterlilies is still a meditative experience. The 8 panels inside Musee de l'Orangerie offer a haven of peace among the hustle & bustle of the city.

PEACE ON EARTH

...these words resonate more than ever. For once the words came before the painting. I want to paint an angel over Paris, but starting a new painting over the holiday season might not be the best idea. With my limited time,  I settle for a line drawing of an angel. I know I have many angel sketches. It was just a matter of flipping thru a lot of sketchbooks before I focus on what I needed to draw for this new design.

Before heading out to explore for the day, this is my sketch from this morning...hiking up Montmartre is a lovely routine.

PARIS GREETINGS

It really helps not to be tie down to commitments, as an artist. My rambling life style  has taken me to many far off places over the years. I keep returning to Paris because the city is a wellspring of inspirations. Around every corner, another picturesque spot to explore, another quaint shop to check out. Weather is still mild, I'm sure I will come up with lots more inspiration for MY PARIS RAMBLINGS, before I go home.
