Winter Sketches from my Desk

My sketches are more for ideas & experiment. But once in awhile, a few strokes of color capture the mood I want for 

a finish illustration.

BUCOLIC BEAUTY

Another attempt to sketch the intangible. Delighting in what i can do with just paper, graphite & kneaded eraser.

Due to the light, the scene changes every hour. Sometimes one needs to bring on some colors to emphasis the mood.

Just a few strokes of green & blues does the trick to convey a soft afternoon along the Connecticut River. Do click on link to see more images.

SACRE COEUR

Paris offers so much that after all these years, it still remains fresh for my painterly eyes. Instead of being overwhelm with a new city & new adventures, I start my artful day with catching a sunrise from Sacre Coeur.

 I then go into the church & open my sketchbook while the angels sing! A pretty lovely start to my Paris Ramblings.

WINTER BIRDS

All the rain last week kept the birds away from the feeder. They are back, with the snow. All puffed up.

My early roses lasted a week in the vase. Thought I do a quick study before I toss them out. This black & white drawing may be suitable as a sympathy card?
